And the Director For GoF Is....

Mike Newell! It has been confirmed that Mike Newell will be directing the Goblet of Fire.

His comments:

"I'm very excited about directing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire...As audiences have become more familiar with both the books and the movies, there has been an increasing challenge to continue to develop each of these characters and to make their world real on screen."

Goblet of Fire, In one Movie?!

Today, Yahoo News reportes that the 4th installment of the movie rendition of Harry Potter will be released in only one movie. Steve Kloves, the screen-write for Harry Potter, stated earlier this month on CNN that there was no way the whole story will fit in even 3 hours. Steve Kloves is trying to push to have the 4th in 2 parts, but WB said they are aiming for only 1 part. I think trying to fit in the Quidditch world cup, The Tournament and the whole scene with Dumbledore and the Minister of Magic would take atleast 4 hours, and more if they want any plot in it. We'll keep you filled in as soon as we know more.

Scholars Study Potter

From The Kansas City Star:
Look out Dorothy and Toto. Here come Harry and Hermione.

In children's literature circles, the state of Kansas has always enjoyed a special relationship with L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz. Now a few Sunflower State scholars are sharpening their quills on another children's lit superstar.

Harry Potter.

No, Harry's not secretly from Prairie Village. But he is the subject of several essays and lectures by Kansas scholars that are getting noticed across the country.

We're Sirius. Er, serious.

A New Kind of Magic

JK Rowling has worked a new, different kind of magic on property prices near her country home.

Locals say the arrival of the writer in Perthshire has driven them out of the property market as prices soar.

Since JK splashed out £1million for six-bedroom 19th Century Killichassie House, near Aberfeldy, even modest properties in the area are changing hands for six-figure sums.

A three-bedroom farmhouse next to Rowling's Strathtay property sold last week for well over £300,000. That's around £200,000 more than it would have fetched a couple of years ago.

The man who sold JK her mansion, estate agent William Jackson, of CKD Galbraith, says the "Rowling Effect" has shot prices through the roof.

Obviously, a lot of people want to live near JK Rowling.
